Hello Ascension- Affiliated Physicians,
Over the last year, I have had the pleasure to educate and inform dozens of your colleagues regarding their Ascension Group Long-Term Disability Plan’s (GLTD) benefits, definitions and policy features. It seems most of them had no idea of how their plan worked, so I was happy to provide some guidance.
So I received and reviewed the current Ascension GLTD plan documents, and then communicated the pros and cons of the plan to my Ascension physician clients. I then repeated the due diligence process on the supplemental individual disability policy that Ascension made available through UNUM.
So upon providing this service, the feedback I received from your colleagues, across the board, was that this process was invaluable to them and that they hoped I could offer the same service to as many of you as possible. And that is my hope too.
To that request, I have provided you a copy of your Ascension GLTD policy. Additionally, I have also provided a document that discusses the main ‘pitfalls’ of the GLTD plan, as well as the shortcomings of the supplemental UNUM individual disability policy, if you opted for that policy as well. Lastly, I provided a contact form for those of you who also would like me to get you up to speed regarding your income replacement program.
I do hope we get a chance to speak; and if so, at a minimum you will be better equipped to handle any loss of income you may suffer due to a disabling injury or sickness.
